Our Programs
What we actually do, day to day, to close the information gap on LDRT
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so everything below serves our educational mission. The work falls into three programs. All of them are free to the public, and physicians review our medical content for accuracy.
1. Patient Education Library
The research on LDRT is written for specialists. Our library turns it into something patients and caregivers can actually use: what the treatment is, who it might help, what it costs, what the evidence shows, and what the risks are.
- Guides that walk through each step: what LDRT is, candidacy, insurance coverage, what to expect, side effects, and success rates
- Honest comparisons with other options, including cortisone injections, knee replacement, and the broader set of arthritis treatments
- Research summaries and the 2026 American Radium Society guidance, explained without the jargon
- A detailed FAQ covering the questions patients ask us most

2. National Treatment Directory
Knowing a treatment exists does not help much if you cannot find anyone who offers it. Our directory is the largest public listing of U.S. hospitals and radiation oncology practices that provide LDRT for osteoarthritis: more than 600 locations in all 50 states, searchable by state and city, plus an interactive map.
- We verify listings with the treatment centers themselves, and we label each listing's verification status honestly
- Each listing shows the details that matter: conditions treated, equipment, insurance accepted, and physicians at that location
- The directory keeps growing, including through radiation oncologists who reach out to us directly to be listed
3. Community Outreach
The people who need this information most are often the least likely to find it through a search engine: older adults living with joint pain. So we bring it to them. Our outreach program has connected with more than 3,000 community organizations around the country.
- We share educational materials through senior centers, assisted living communities, libraries, YMCAs, and local health events
- We print flyers and mailings that explain LDRT in plain language, made for bulletin boards and waiting rooms
- Our State Outreach Ambassadors, student volunteers across the country, connect local organizations with our materials and help grow the directory
How This Work Gets Paid For
Radiant Joint Alliance is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-3274965). Donations from people who believe patients deserve better information keep us going. The money covers website hosting, directory upkeep, printing, and postage for outreach to community organizations.
